Gaytravel review of Totem by Cirque Du Soleil
Get ready Boston because there is an amazing experience headed your way! If amazing light shows, acrobatics, and incredible song and dance tickle your fancy then Totem is the show for you! This traveling Cirque De Soleil experience is spectacle to say the very least. The show is inspired by the concept of the Totem and its symbol of origin in ancient civilizations. It will take you on a journey of evolution and the ties that binds man to other species.

The evening began with the characters meeting and interacting with the audience as we took our seats, it was a fun personal touch. Once the lights went down the live music began and an incredible organic structure is unveiled and the acrobatics begin, and it’s nothing short of incredible. In the first few minutes you could already hear the gasps from the audience and they stare wide eyed at what is happening only feet away.
One of the most entertaining parts of the show features 4 cast members on extremely tall unicycles all moving in unison while tossing bowls into the air and catching them on their head! Yes on their head! And the most amazing part was they were tossing the bowls with their feet! When was the last time you tried tossing a bowl into the air with your foot while trying to stay balanced on a unicycle? We literally could have watched them all night.

A few other things you should expect from the show are trapeze acts, carapace (bars), hoop dancing, manipulation, perches, rings, roller skates, Russian bars, and much more! Don’t miss this experience.
The show will next appear Boston then travel Washington D.C., Atlanta, and Miami.
