Getting Away to Palm Springs Pride
So how many of you SoCalers and Nevadans are going to Palm Spring Pride? If you were thinking about getting away for some fun this weekend, then why not head over to Pride for the Gay Oasis which is takes place this weekend, November 7th and 8th. Like any other pride festival, there will be vendors, entertainment, dances and of course, the parade.
The Palm Springs Pride Festival starts Saturday at 10 a.m. and is open until 8 p.m. at the Palm Springs Baseball Stadium. The Festival grounds are open again on Sunday from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. The Palm Springs Pride Parade starts at 10 a.m. on Sunday on Alejo Road. Tickets to the Festival and to other Palm Springs Pride events are available on their website. You will also find a Parade Map and a Festival Map there.
“Sweat”, the Palm Springs Pride Official Men’s Party will be Saturday night from 10 p.m. to the wee hours of Sunday morning with DJ John LePage rocking the house. For the women, there is “Gloss”, the Official Women’s Party starting at 9 p.m. with DJ Asha and DJ Olga.
What makes this pride event especially appealing is the location. Residents and visitors alike are free to express their love here and many gays choose Palm Springs as their retirement destination. There is an abundance of gay friendly hotels and businesses here, several of them clothing optional if you’re into that! Whether you want to take dip the pool, go for a hike, play some tennis or some golf, Palm Springs is especially attractive to those who enjoy an active lifestyle.
