GayTravel.com announced "Love Wins" as the first Gay Travel Approved℠ book during a live Twitter chat with co-authors Debbie Cenziper and Jim Obergefell.

"Love Wins: The Lovers and Lawyers Who Fought the Landmark Case for Marriage Equality" published by Harper Collins is one of the most important books ever written about the LGBTQ community and the fight for equal rights.

Written with passion and precision by Pulitzer Prize-winning journalist Debbie Cenziper and Jim Obergefell, the plaintiff whose case paved the way for marriage across the United States, "Love Wins" was released in June just in time for the one-year anniversary of marriage equality. Its release came just two weeks after the tragic shooting in Orlando that took 49 lives. While it's tough to celebrate something like marriage equality on the heels of such tragedy, the book is an important reminder that equality is hard fought, and the men and women who have been at the forefront of this battle deserve our praise. The book is also a reminder that there is strength in numbers, and when the LGBTQ community stands together, love truly wins.

We were honored to be joined by Debbie and Jim for a Twitter chat discussing the book on Monday, June 20. We were also joined by Gay Travel Celebrity Gurus Davey Wavey, Duane Wells, "RuPaul's Drag Race" star Delta Work and a number of our travel partners from hotels and destinations around the world. The goal of the chat was simple — shine the spotlight on this excellent book and show our support for marriage equality and the LGBTQ community. For one hour, we all very much shared the love.

It was also our honor during this chat to announce "Love Wins" as our first Gay Travel Approved book, a distinction it so richly deserves. In addition to telling the story of Jim, his late husband John and the many men and women whose passion and perseverance led to the landmark SCOTUS ruling, it shows how much the landscape of America has changed. For example, Cincinnati has emerged as a hugely supportive and welcoming city for the LGBTQ community. We were delighted to have Cincinnati USA join us for the Twitter chat!
