Key West Pride

The Key West Business Guild, one of the nation’s oldest Gay and Lesbian Chambers of Commerce, is
gearing up for another year of blockbuster activities for the LGBTA visitor in 2012.
June features Key West Pride, June 6 to 10th, a celebration of our LGBT community and the wonderful island where much of the gay acceptance started many years ago.  “You’ve had Pride at home, now experience it in Key West,” encourages the Guild which has planned a five-day schedule of water and land activities that culminates in a colorful community-wide parade up the main drag, Duval Street, on Sunday, June 10.  Come experience Pride in Key West, the first travel destination in the United States to advertise itself as “gay friendly.”

Key West has a lot to be proud of – we recently tied with San Francisco for the title of “Best City for Unity Between Gays and Lesbians,” and we won hands down in “Best City for Unity Between Gays and Straights.”  Both our city and county official mottos are “One Human Family.” Our LGBT leaders serve openly, and our visitors are welcomed throughout our island.

We show our Key West Pride every day, and this is your chance to be a part of the celebration!  Join us for Key West Pride and enjoy dance parties, drag shows, bike tours, water excursions, a street fair, and even a parade through town.  Our Miss Pride, Mr Pride and Ms Pride competitions are infamous for their fun and their skin.
