LGBT Scene in Las Vegas
Las Vegas is one of the top destinations in the country for gay and lesbian travelers. Many Las Vegas hotels - Paris Las Vegas was among the first - go out of their way to cater to LGBT clientele, with packages and special offers. At Wynn and Encore, there's a Pride concierge, dedicated specifically to helping LGBT guests make the most of their time in Las Vegas. Not that you'll need much help when there's something fabulous around every corner.
Most of the Las Vegas gay clubs and gay bars are situated in two main areas. You can find the first area in a series of strip malls on Paradise which has been dubbed "The Fruitloop". In the fruitloop you’ll find a large amount of gay bars, gay restaurants, and other gay owned businesses.
The 2nd Gay area in Vegas is the commercial center on the Sahara. You can find a myriad of gay bars and restaurants here as well. When you are there don’t forget to check out the Badlands Saloon, a western country bar or The Spotlight which is a poplar gay lounge. If you’re feeling more adventurous and want to relax then you can also check out the two bathhouses that are also located in this gay-borhood.
You can't do Vegas without hitting the bars and clubs just south of Hard Rock Hotel on Paradise Road - home to the FreeZone, Piranha Nightclub and 8 ½ Ultra Lounge. Also, don't miss Charlie's Las Vegas, which was recently voted "Best gay bar to meet new friends" by Naked Boy News. And no Las Vegas visit would be complete without a trip to Snick's, the oldest gay bar in Vegas.
Of course, there's more to life than partying. You've got an eye for the finer things in life and Las Vegas is certainly up to the challenge. The public art on display at CityCenter includes masterworks from Maya Lin, Nancy Rubins and Claes Oldenburg. Right next door at The Cosmopolitan, street artists such as Shepard Fairey were commissioned to paint different floors of the underground parking garage. If you enjoy the arts, Onyx Theater frequently features off-Broadway hits and other alternative theatrical performances.
One thing that's not underground is the amazing dining and shopping, found up and down the Strip, that round out any perfect getaway. Enjoy a delicious meal with a breathtaking view. Check out the Top of the World restaurant at the Stratosphere, Eiffel Tower Restaurant at Paris Las Vegas or enjoy the fabulous Fountains of Bellagio with a meal at Todd English's Olives. Then, get your shop on! Take a gondola ride through The Grand Canal Shoppes at The Venetian or look through the 170 specialty stores at the Miracle Mile Shops at Planet Hollywood.
Las Vegas is also the place to go when you know you've found that special someone and you're ready for some intimacy and romance. And now, everyone can have the Las Vegas wedding they deserve - with pride! Same-sex marriage has been declared legal in Nevada, so if you're ready to take the plunge, exchange your vows proudly in the undisputed wedding capital of the world.
Come wear your colors proudly in Las Vegas.
