Gay Travel Prince Edward Island

There are many reasons why people come to Prince Edward Island the three biggest are beaches, seafood and music. This is NOT Key West or Palm Springs – but LGBT travelers are sure to feel welcome. The LGBT community is thriving and growing and always looking for new ways to come together and celebrate diversity. There are no gay bars or nightlife, but there’s everything else a tourist could want, and the locals will ensure a warm welcome.

Prince Edward Island has miles and miles of beautiful sandy beaches many of which are secluded and uncrowded. Fresh seafood like lobster, oysters, mussels, clams and delicious fish abound at numerous restaurants. In September PEI hosts the Fall Flavours Festival, a month-long celebration of the fresh locally produced foods and drinks.  There are too many music festivals to list from pipes and drums to jazz and bluegrass.

But for many people, it is nature that will bring them to Prince Edward Island. A chance to bike for miles on the Confederation Trail, kayak in both rivers and the ocean, or hiking along beaches or through the forest. And for the more adventurous, PEI is quickly becoming known for kitesurfing.

Prince Edward Island is easily accessible via ferries, flying, or driving across the spectacular Confederation Bridge – an engineering marvel.
