David, Chiriqui, Panama
David is the capital of the providence of Chiriquí located in west Panama. The Pan American Highway is a popular route to travel to David. This fairly affluent city of almost 150,000 people has the basics that sometimes can be overlooked such as clean water and electricity. This is the third largest urban area in Panama. It is a popular tourist destination because of its nightlife, cuisine, entertainment and shopping.
David also has a close proximity to the west coast and some of the island preserves found there. Most attractive to the tourists is the northern parts of the city were most of the stores and franchises familiar to travellers are, along with the wealthiest Davidians. The area also is known for growing tropical fruits, coffee, cacao and sugar cane. The area is surrounded by the beautiful highlands of Chiriquí and a view from the north of Panamas tallest mountain Volcán Barú, a dormant volcano. In this beautiful location you can relax with a cool drink, gamble at one of the casinos, or get out and explore the more naturalistic activities.
