The Hamptons
1Known as a haven for the rich and famous, the villages and hamlets that make up The Hamptons are located on the far east-end of Long Island, New York. LGBT-specific nightlife is limited and many tourists who vacation in the area tend to stick with securing a spot on the guest lists of the hottest VIP house parties.
Summer is the ideal time to visit The Hamptons, when the temperature is usually in the 70s. The warmest month is July and the coldest is January. During the winter months temperatures dip into the 30s.
There are a number of transit options for the tourist who doesn’t want to drive to The Hamptons. The area is accessible by the Long Island Railroad and the Hampton Jitney, a bus line that takes passengers back and forth from NYC and the rest of Long Island.
Golf, tennis and other exclusive clubs abound in The Hamptons. Summer residents, known as the “Summer Colony” also enjoy the high-end retail shops, restaurants and galleries that make the area one of the most desirable places to live and vacation in the United States.
