Local Expert: Gay Scene in Philadelphia

The Gayborhood, Philly's premier LGBTQ district, is located centrally from Chestnut to Pine street, between 11th and Broad. This area boasts its own unique architecture with narrow, tree-lined, cobblestone streets, and brick townhouses and apartment buildings sprinkled among bookshops, coffee shops, restaurants, gay bars, and clubs. The city is the home of the global Equality Forum each year and is partly the reason for the increasingly positive attitude towards equality in Philadelphia. The Pride Day LGBT Parade and Festival takes place every year here, too.
