“P-Town,” which is perched on the very tip of Cape Cod, started to attract gays and lesbians in the 1960s when it was predominantly a colony for eccentric artists, radical politicos and anyone else who shunned the status quo. Today, Gay Provincetown is a diverse playground – specifically during the summer months—where gays and lesbians mingle with straight tourists. Among straight couples walking hand-in-hand, you’ll see gay and lesbian couples pushing strollers and twenty-something gay club kids ready to party. P-Town has always been known as a town that embraces its GLBT following and welcomes all LGBT travelers from all over the world so don’t hesitate to use our gay and lesbian travel guides when planning your next trip to P-town.

Provincetown as a whole is one big gayborhood, so you won’t have to go looking for the gay scene because you will most likely already be in it! Given its reputation for being gay-friendly to the max, the town doesn’t need a designated area for gays. Gays are everywhere. Commercial Street is where you’ll find a majority of the gay bars and clubs, including Monkey Bar, Paramount and Wave.
