What makes your city such a great LGBT destination?

The island of Maui is so amazingly beautiful, all people that come here, whether resident or visitor, forget their biases and prejudices and share the true Aloha spirit.  It really is contagious and it just becomes a peaceful and harmonious environment that all enjoy, without judgments.

What are some hotspots gay and lesbian travelers should check out when they are in the city?

If you are coming to Maui for night life and what we think are traditional ‘hotspots’ for LGBT travelers, then you are coming here for the wrong reason.  Sure you can find everything from hook ups to the love of your life to a romantic couples get away, but it’s sharing the beauty of nature and experiencing this magical land that brings you friendships or closer relationships.   While there is no full time gay bar on Maui, we have a daily congregation of LGBT community members that meet at ‘Little Beach’, Maui’s clothing optional beach.  Ambrosia Martini Bar is another popular spot with gay night on Sundays.  And of course the epicenter of the LGBT community on Maui is the Maui Sunseeker LGBT Resort where guests congregate nightly on the rooftop with a bottle of wine or cocktail.

What are the top five reasons for gay travelers to visit?

Reason One: The Aloha Spirit on Maui that genuinely welcomes all

Reason Two: It’s an average temperature of 85 degrees almost every day and the sun shines daily somewhere on the island.

Reason Three: Full Marriage Equality in the state of Hawaii.  In fact, Hawaii was the first state to propose marriage equality in the US all the way back in 1993.

Reason Four: A great chance to de-stress from the mainland and just be yourself.

Reason Five: It’s like visiting an exotic land without leaving the safety of the United States

Tell our readers why they should visit your city and more specifically, your property.

While Kihei is central to the entire island, it’s also breathtakingly beautiful.  The ocean views from the Maui Sunseeker LGBT Resort are the best on this side of the island, particularly from the rooftop deck at sunset.  Our guests love watching the whales (in season) breach and spout and frolic in the bay, all of which is visible from the ocean view rooms at the Sunseeker. Plus the guests all get into the Aloha spirit and can become your next best friend.  And watching the sun set over the island of Lanai every night is a different painting every night.  Maui has been ranked the number one island in the world for 20 consecutive years!

Why should gay travelers book at your property instead of other properties in the area?

The Maui Sunseeker LGBT Resort provides the best value for the discerning LGBT traveler with impeccably clean rooms and the finest of service and no resort nor cleaning nor any  hidden fees all at just very affordable nightly rates.  Plus we provide tons of free amenities, like free wifi, free parking and free use of beach gear (towels, coolers, chairs, umbrellas). We have been awarded the Certificate of Excellence by TripAdvisor for 5 years in a row because of our guests’ rave reviews.  Not to mention we are the ONLY LGBT Owned and Operated resort in Hawaii.

Is there anything else you’d like to add?

Even the Hawaiians have a saying about this island; Maui No Ka Oi (Maui is the best)  So E komo mai (Warmest Hawaiian Welcome)
