Maybe you're new to kayaking or you're an experienced kayaker but want a break from bringing supplies and planning meals, then we've got the trip for you! It's our pleasure to introduce you to a high quality, sea kayak tour operator serving Vancouver Island, British Columbia, Canada. On these kayak vacations you have a choice of either lodge based or camping expeditions. This company strives to cater at a higher level to their clients' needs, strive not to impact the environments that you travel in and aim to provide a highly enjoyable and memorable sea kayaking experience.
Your Kayak Guides are some of the Best in the Industry: They possess a caring nature and are sincere in their endeavor to make every sea kayaking trip a success for each person. Shifting roles from leader, chef, nurse, teacher and entertainer; it takes a unique individual to fill this role. Each guide is a professional outdoor leader with certification in Advanced Wilderness First Aid, C.P.R., Sea Kayak Guide Alliance training or equivalent, and of course, there is no substitute for experience. Safety is their highest priority on every kayaking trip.
Your Meals: We promise that you will be amazed and delighted at what your guides can whip up on a Coleman stove. Healthy, nourishing food is paramount to enjoying yourself in the great outdoors and here it's taken one step further. Your guides are savvy in the art of creating wholesome gourmet meals; expertly prepared, nutrient rich full flavored meals are the norm. Part of the fun is in not knowing exactly what you are going to get along with chefs who delight in taking what's in season and have fun with improvising
To complement each meal you'll explore the best that the domestic wine industry has to offer. The selection is always changing with everything from juicy Gewurztraminers and crisp Pinot Gris to rich Chardonnay and full throttle Cabernet. Of course it wouldn't be luxury camping without a creative dessert to finish you off. Dietary restrictions are gladly accommodated.
Supplies & Equipment: This may be the best part (next to the fabulous food) - all kayaking related equipment and camping equipment are provided. In addition, all cooking equipment as well as meals and snacks (see your itinerary for details) are included. You won't have to plan meals, shop for groceries, pack a tent, stove or dry bags! The main things you need to bring are clothing, some personal equipment and a sleeping bag. It doesn't get much easier.
How to Get to Vancouver Island: By Air: You can fly into Vancouver (YVR) and take a connecting flight to Port Hardy (YZT), the most convenient way of getting to the pre-trip meeting location in Port McNeill. By Car: Approximate time from Vancouver to Port McNeill by car is 8 hours, including a 1.5 hour ferry ride.
