Waitlisting on a Sold Out event -  When an event is sold out, such as this one, you may book a waitlist by asking to be placed on the waitlist for all categories you would like. Waitlists often do clear which means you have a fair chance of being able to sail with us on this event.  You are not guaranteed space on the cruise, but will be asked if you want to book the cruise - if and when the preferred category becomes available. 

When people think about taking a cruise, often the first part of the world that comes to mind is the Caribbean - and with good reason. The beauty and culture of these tropical isles is legendary; their beaches, verdant valleys, and human-scaled cities have been enjoyed by pirates and princesses alike. We make a cruise extraordinary by making it an all gay event, then ramp up the whole experience by cruising among the islands in one of the most refined and luxurious ships afloat - the ms Westerdam.

the trip  -We'll begin our Caribbean adventure in one of the most popular American destinations for gays and lesbians, fabulous Ft. Lauderdale. Come a few days early to enjoy the gay beaches, nightlife, and shops. We'll depart from Ft. Lauderdale upon the newest and most glamorous ship in the Holland America Fleet, the ms Westerdam. 

We'll have a full day at sea to get to know the wonder of this ship, from her private verandahs to The Greenhouse Spa and Salon. And you'll never lack entertainment options on an this cruise. The days are yours to enjoy as you like, but we hope you join us for pool games, tea dances, costume parties, and nightly entertainment and dances.

Our first port of call is bright and colorful San Juan, Puerto Rico. Here, the old world architecture of Old San Juan's shopping markets contrast magically with the sizzling nightlife of the new city. An overnight passage has us waking up the next morning at the island of Tortola, largest of the British Virgin Islands - not far from where Blackbeard marooned "15 men and a bottle of rum." Tortola is a friendly and diverse community that tempts travelers with West Indian culinary specialties of fresh lobster, conch, turtle, spicy goat, and curries of every description. 
On the southeast shore of the Dominican Republic, where you'll enjoy one of the most beautiful resorts in the Caribbean, is Casa De Campo. The resort offers an incredibly relaxing ambience - but you won't believe the variety of recreation, sightseeing, and cultural exploration available: a visit to Altos de Chavon, a replica of a 17th century Mediterranean village; a cruise in an amphibious vehicle along the scenic view of the Chavon River; relaxation on a sleek 82-foot catamaran as you enjoy the beautiful Dominican coast.

Another full day at sea, then a truly special final destination, Half Moon Cay, for the day it is our very own private island in the Bahamas. If you've ever dreamed of making the first footprints on the beach of a truly secluded tropical island, you'll have your chance on Half Moon Cay. Swim, snorkel, or lounge till the beat of a steel-drum band summons you to a beach party and buffet. Cast off your everyday cares on sunswept beaches as you play the day away. A whole island of gay and lesbian vacationers. Imagine.

the ship  -Holland America's five-star ships are consistently rated the top premium cruise line by the readers of Travel & Leisure Magazine, Condé Nast Traveler - and by our own seasoned travelers. The 1,898-passenger Westerdam is Holland America's newest ship, making her debut in the Spring of 2004. The majority of the Westerdam's beautiful staterooms have ocean views and private verandahs, the large Lido pool has a retractable dome, and a covered promenade encircles the entire ship. You'll be amazed by the million-dollar art collection, elegant full-service meals, and the stunning views offered by the "exterior" elevators.
