Arrive in Madrid Today you'll arrive in Madrid. Please make your way to our hotel, located which is centrally located in Madrid. After check-in at hotel you will have some free time to relax and rest after your journey. This evening, we will host a sumptuous welcome dinner in a typical restaurant located in the historic quarter of Chueca (Madrid's gay quarter). Afterwards if you have some energy left, join us and discover a few of the clubs that are famous in the capital! Meals: D. |

Madrid This morning we will begin our tour of Madrid to discover the city and to enjoy at its fullest. Our tour of the city will take us past all the interesting and major sights that make Madrid famous. We will pass by the Madrid de los Austrias, the oldest part of the city, with narrow streets and full of life. We also visit the Plaza Mayor and the Plaza de la Villa which are the neuralgic centers of Madrid. This part of the town is surrounded by many narrow streets filled with charming small cafes and shops and has an intense social life. Out tour will end prior to lunch where you will then have the afternoon free to continue to explore the city at your own pace. Meals: B. |

Madrid - Sitges Today we leave Madrid and head to Sitges, a Mediterranean beach resort just outside of Barcelona. Sitges is fast becoming a Mecca for the gay traveler with its white sandy beaches, laid back atmosphere and charming streets. Meals: B. |

Barcelona We enjoy a half day tour of Barcelona visiting "La Sagrada Familia" (The Holy Family) the amazing masterpiece of Barcelona's most famous architect, Antonio Gaudi. We continue on our way to the incomparable and colorist Güell park. Rather than a park it is Gaudi's vision of the perfect future city, where buildings and nature are perfectly blended. From the vantage point of the upper side of the park we enjoy an amazing view of the whole city. Our guide will escort us through the old Ramblas (where the majestic opera palace "Liceo" is located), the Columbus square and the Gothic quarter, one of the best preserved in Europe as it was centuries ago. Within this charming quarter we find the impressive Cathedral, the city council, the regional government palace and hundreds of narrow streets full of life. Our hotel, the Axel was voted the Best gay hotel by Out Traveler for 2005. Located right in the centre of the Gayxemple, the Axel will be the perfect base for our exploration of the cultural city. Barcelona Enjoy a free day today to explore Barcelona. Would you like to visit some of the renowned museums? Perhaps shop until you drop along its famous shopping boulevards? End of Tour Our tour officially ends today after breakfast. The airport is a short taxi ride away and you are free to make your return flight arrangements for anytime today. If you would like to stay on, we would be more than happy to help arrange your extension. Meals: B. |

Hotels: All of our hotels will be 4 star very centrally located in the centre of Barcelona, Sitges and Madrid. Contact us for more information and rates to extend your stay. Madrid: To be determined. Sitges: Hotel Subur Marítim Sitges is located on Sitges seafront in one of the most paceful and nice areas of Sitges. Our Hotel, which is within walking distance (around 10 minutes) to the city center, is provided with modern and friendly facilities that guarantee an unforgettable stay. Barcelona: Axel Hotel, a heterofriendly hotel located in the centre of the gayxemple.
Flights: Please arrive into Madrid Barajas airport (MAD) and depart from Barcelona's Prat Airport (BCN). If you require airport transfers please let us know so we may arrange this for you.
Visas: Canadian and American passport holders are NOT required to have visas to enter Spain for tourism purposes.
Shots and Immunizations: There are no shots that are required for travel to Spain, but we recommend that your tetanus booster be up to date.
Currency and Money Issues: The currency in Spain is the Euro. It is very easy to withdraw money from ATMs located throughout the country as well as to use your Visa or MasterCard. The American Express card is less widely accepted. Travelers checks are also accepted however can carry a heavy commission fee. We recommend to travelers to bring only a small amount of cash and/or travelers checks and to rather use their ATM and credit cards while traveling. |
