Arrival in Bangkok
Those who will be departing from USA/Canada will cross the Pacific and International Date Line, arriving late today (Thailand is 12 hours ahead of EST). Upon your arrival you will be met at the airport and transferred to your hotel the Sathorn Place Hotel for a good night's sleep.

Sun

Bangkok City Tour
Our tour begins this morning with visits to the Jim Thompson house; the Grand Palance with its dozens of dazzling palaces and temples; the Emeral Buddah, a 2 foot tall image made from green jasper that sits atop a towering gold altar; Wat Po and the Reclining Buddah. Afterwards we cross the Chao Phraya River and visit the stunning Wat Arun, temple of the Dawn. We cap the day in style with a romantic dinner cruise down the river past lighted temples and under huge bridges. Meals: B, D.

Mon

Bangkok Sites and Sights!
Today is a free day to explore Bangkok at your own pace. Thailand offers great shopping opportunities or perhaps you may want to indulge in a luxurious Thai massage. This evening we enjoy one of Bangkok's most famous drag shows! Meals: B.

Tue

Floating and Flying
Our van takes us for a morning visit to the bustling and exotic Floating Market. We have free time for lunch at a wonderful restaurant built over the water (not included). After returning to Bangkok we transfer to the airport and fly to the ancient northern capital of Chiang Mai in time for dinner. This evening we visit to the famous Night Market. Meals: B.

Wed

A Day in the Country
Our van climbs high into the clouds for a full day tour of the countryside. We visit Doi Suthep temple and then continue on to a Hmong hill tribe village and an elephant camp. Dinner with a traditional Thai Kantoke show of music and dance caps the day (included). Meals: B, D.

Thu

Ancient and Modern
A city tour of ancient moated Chiang Mai, the Rose of the North, with visits to temples and the native handicraft shops for which the region is famous. In the evening we fly to the island of Phuket on the Andaman Sea. Meals: B.

Fri

Hangin' free
A day to hang out on beautiful, wide Patong Beach or visit the town just across the road. Dinner and an unbelievable Thai show with elephants, fire, water, lasers and much more all on stage at FantaSea (included). Meals: B, D.

Sat

Another day in Paradise
More beach time or optional tours to nearby islands for snorkeling or just gasping at the exotic scenery - of all types! In the evening we fly to Bangkok and a good night's sleep. Meals: B.

Sun

We take our leave of Thailand
This morning marks the end of our tour. Most flights will leave early in the morning and we will provide one transfer to the airport that coincides the best with most travelers. If you would like to extend your stay in Thailand or perhaps visit nearby Cambodia or Vietnam we would be more than happy to assist you with your arrangements. Meals: B.

Not included: international airfare to/from Thailand; airport transfers, passport & visa fees if applicable; personal travel and cancellation insurance; meals and activities not specifically included in the itinerary; services of a personal nature like alcohol, soft drinks, bottled water, laundry, telephone calls, faxes as well as customary tips to drivers and guides.

Visas:
Canadian and American passport holders are NOT required to have visas to enter the Thailand for tourism purposes.

Shots and Immunizations:
There are no shots that are required for travel to Thailand but we do recommend that your tetanus booster be up to date.

Currency and Money Issues:
It is very easy to withdraw money from ATMs located throughout the country as well as to use your Visa or MasterCard. The American Express card is less widely accepted. Travelers checks are also accepted however can carry a heavy commission fee. We recommend to travelers to bring only a small amount of cash and/or travelers checks and to rather use their ATM and credit cards while traveling.
