Sun

Hanoi arrival
Welcome to Hanoi, capital of Vietnam! Our guide and driver will escort you to your hotel. We will have a half-day tour of Ho Chi Minh Mausoleum complex, One-pillar Pagoda, Temple of Literature. Pedicab ride thru Old Quarter followed by water puppet show. Welcome dinner with Vietnamese food. Meals: L, D.

Mon

Half-day countryside tour / Half-day city tour
After breakfast we leave for Pottery village in the country with biking along the dike of Red River and traditional folk shows at the beautiful 17th century temple with buffalo ride to the village. Box lunch from our hotel. After the show we return to Hanoi to explore the city and have dinner at a local restaurant. Meals: B, L, D.

Tue

Hanoi - Halong day trip
After breakfast we take a day trip to Halong Bay, a World Heritage site. We drive thru villages to the dock at noon, then board our private junk for a 4-hour cruise thru thousands of islands (twin share rooms with private toilet). Seafood lunch on boat, swimming, fishing, hill climbing on the bay. Return to Hanoi in late afternoon. Meals: B, L.

Wed

Hanoi to Hue, the 18th century capital
After breakfast we check out for our fight via Vietnam Airlines to Hue, the capital of Vietnam from 1802-1945. We visit a pagoda, have tour of Forbidden City and a dragon boat trip on the Perfume River. A special highlight will be a private dinner at the centuries-old home of a princess of the former Royal Family. Meals: B, L, D.

Thu

Hue to Hoi An, the ancient 17th century port and another World Heritage Site.
After breakfast we check out and visit the palace of King Tu Duc. Lunch at the Pagoda with vegetarian foods, then drive to Hue through beautiful central Vietnam over Hai Van Pass, arriving in the afternoon. Walking tour of the Old Town with sights on the 17th Century Silk Road. Dinner at a local restaurant. Meals: B, L, D.

Fri

The ruins of the Champa Kingdom of the 7th Century!
After breakfast we drive to the ruins which were buried in the jungle for centuries, returning to Hoi An at noon, we have lunch at a local restaurant. Afternoon is free for exploration and shopping. Meals: B.

Sat

Hoi An and Nha Trang
Free time in the morning to explore or a tour to the Countryside with boat trip on Thu Bon river. Check out at noon for flight to Nha Trang. Arrive at Cam Ranh Airport and transfer to hotel. Meals: B, D.

Sun

Nha Trang Day Tour
A morning boat trip around the many islands in the Bay with swimming and snorkeling. Return to town for lunch at Pho 24 Restaurant, Temple visit and exploration. Dinner on your own. Meals: B, L.

Mon

Nha Trang to Saigon
Free until our noon for our flight to Saigon. Upon arrival We check in at our hotel and see the sights. Dinner at local restaurant. Meals: B, D.

Tue

Depart for home
We are free in the morning until our departures for home. We will organize one transfer to the airport that best coincides with most departures. Departure from Ho Chi Minh (SGN) airport. Meals: B.

Single Supplement: $550 USD. Not Required. We can match you with another traveler should you wish at no cost. Price includes: all accommodation in 4 star, gay friendly hotels, with private bath or shower; hotel taxes, porterage, tips and service charges; all activities as outlined in the itinerary; all meals as per itinerary; economy class air tickets between cities, the services of a tour escort throughout the trip; all ground transportation as per itinerary; entrance fees to all sites on itinerary. Not included: international airfare to/from Vietnam; airport transfers, passport & visa fees if applicable; personal travel and cancellation insurance; meals and activities not specifically included in the itinerary; services of a personal nature like alcohol, soft drinks, bottled water, laundry, telephone calls, faxes as well as customary tips to drivers and guides.

Visas:
Canadian and American passport holders are required to have visas to enter Vietnam for tourism purposes.

Shots and Immunizations:
There are no shots that are required for travel to Vietnam but we do recommend that your tetanus booster be up to date.

Currency and Money Issues:
It is very easy to withdraw money from ATMs located throughout the country as well as to use your Visa or MasterCard. The American Express card is less widely accepted. Travelers checks are also accepted however can carry a heavy commission fee. We recommend to travelers to bring only a small amount of cash and/or travelers checks and to rather use their ATM and credit cards while traveling.

Insurance:
We strongly suggest that travelers purchase travel medical insurance for this trip. You may verify with your insurance company if they will cover your tour or we can provide you with the necessary coverage if needed.
