This is a hidden gem in the heart of Venice. Steps up from the boardwalk is Piccolo. This charming (newly expanded) little hot spot will wow you with it’s food. Quaint, romantic, and refined atmosphere can be found at the beach without the attitude of Los Angeles. The food is modern Italian cuisine, classically prepared yet nouveau taste and style. Always impressive is the quality. They also have one of the largest wine lists on the west side! They have a couple seats outside on the sidewalk, however, I’d choose the inside for a more intimate experience… sans hippie stoner beach bums. A little FYI: that section of Dudley street has been deemed an historic site and will soon be redone with cobblestone, so perhaps it will expand its patio soon? We shall see. In any event, try this place! You will love it.
Parking is almost impossible however, so if you can, cab it, or try and park a few blocks east towards main and walk from Rose Ave. to Speedway to Dudley.
