First of all… it’s free. That’s right… LA’s Artistic Pride and Joy on The Hill is FREE to visitors. This world famous museum has some of the most profound collections in both contemporary and classic art and has rotating installations that fill this massive locale with a feast for the eyes and mind that will impress and hoity-toity gay alongside the least exposed baby dyke.
The Getty Museum is run by a foundation (surprisingly named The Getty Foundation) and they pride themselves on attracting visitors and artists from around the world. The size and caliber of their collection is truly unmatched in Southern California.
You’ll arrive at Getty Center Drive (conveniently located just off the 405 Freeway) and park in a covered lot. Then, you’ll be directed to a tram station where you and the other guests will enjoy a short jaunt up the hill to the museum where you can then enter and choose which wing you’d like to visit. There are many wings and many collections- so pace yourself!
A lovely cafe is also present on site where you can grab a reasonably priced lunch and check out the stunning views of Los Angeles and the valley that this unique locale provides on top of the incredible art.
Truly not to miss if you’re a resident of SoCal or visiting!!
