Maui’s nude beach is popular with gay locals and tourists. The Little Beach is in Makena State Beach, which is south of Wailea. (Check out more information at http://www.littlebeachmaui.com.) Out Traveler called the beach one of the top five nude beaches in the whole country.

Make sure to check in with Both Sides Now, a GLBT non-profit, or Maui Gay Pride to see what they have cooking on the calendar. Maui throws a Gay Pride Weekend in June. The local community Maui tends to socialize in their own 'family' in private homes, informal groups or a weekly excursion to the beach. Although the local community is typically low-key, there are fundraisers and social events happening often, and visitors are always welcome. There currently is no full-time gay bars but some have gay nights throughout the week- and the aloha spirit makes almost all of Maui’s establishments gay-friendly.
