In Hell’s Kitchen my favorite pick is Barrage; in the East Village (my home base), I’d go with Nowhere; and in Williamsburg, Metropolitan, which rules in summer with its huge outdoor patio. And in terms of best bar night, I would say John Cameron Mitchell’s once-monthly Mattachine party at Julius’s in the West Village, where there are always the coolest queer celebs. In fact, I saw Alan Cumming there last night! So that’s all four queer hoods covered. I’m graciously leaving Chelsea out of this discussion
