New York City

New York City, Aka the Big Apple, is one of the most multi-cultural hodgepodges in the world. One of the most common sayings is “If you can’t find it in the big apple then it simply can’t be found”. If you seek some obscure foods from different parts of the world then you have come to the right place. New York has just about any type of food that you can imagine in your mind. The entire city is a new discovery, every corner you will find something new and interesting.
The gay area of New York is commonly known as Chelsea, the west side of Manhattan. Here you will find a large amount of gay businesses, gay bars, and gay clubs. This area is the kingdom of the fabled Chelsea boy, well-groomed muscle men with bursting t-shirts and skin tight jeans. Well… that is more of a stereotype but if you come to Chelsea the chances are good that you will find gorgeous people that are part of our LGBT community.
Gay owned businesses don’t only reside in Chelsea, there are a plethora of other gay businesses in Manhattan. You can find them everywhere, though some may not be as easy to spot as others, all it takes is an internet connection and a good eye.
If you are looking to see gay history in New York then head over the stonewall Inn. The Stonewall inn is located in the West Village, and remains to be a historical landmark for the gay community. In 1969 a group of gays stood up against a police raid which marked their determination for equality. Nearby the Stonewall Inn you’ll be able to find the popular lesbian bar Henrietta Hudson. This is a must see bar if you’re in the area, truly a center of community get-togethers.
