• LGBT Scene in Nice

Nice, France

The beaches may be made mostly of stones in this alluring beach town, but the boys are definitely made of sugar! The gay scene has been growing steadily, as Nice has become one of the most visited destinations in France.

Keep your eyes peeled for fellow travelers from all over Europe and beyond, marked by their tan and their languid enjoyment of the seaside resort. Coco Beach is the primary primping grounds for the gay set, with Castel Plage also hosting its fair share of gay.

For some food, Thierry and Jeff welcome all their LGBT travel friends to their aptly named Thyjeff’s Café, open from 8am to 9pm. Once night falls, enjoy the fairer climes and wander the city. Barhop through Le Glam and then pop round to Le Klub, which pumps electro music late into the night. If the music doesn’t move you, check out Le Blue, which is west of the downtown area and is a bit more stylish (read: trendy).

If all else fails, shopping is a favorite pastime here, with cheesy T-shirt shops and Galleries Lafeyette segueing into high-end luxury brands appealing to the moneyed set that regularly pass through Nice on their way to St. Tropez and Cannes. This is the Riviera after all!
