Part of the Gifford House Inn complex, the Porchside Lounge is one of the more relaxed hangout bars in Provincetown.  The name comes from the spacious wrap around porch that forms the entryway to the bar and is a great place to enjoy a beer or cocktail, especially in early evenings as the sun sets over town.  The mostly wood interior sports a large bar, a fireplace and a pool table in a small side room.  There is also an inside entrance to the Purgatory Dance Club downstairs making going between the two with drinks easy.  Locals hang out here often especially in winter when a lot of the other bars close and like most of the bars in Ptown it can get quite packed during the summer season.  It’s a great place to meet a date to get cozy with or a group of friends before dancing the night away.
