Whale watching as a tourist attraction got its start in Provincetown when renowned scientist Stormy Mayo linked up with a boat captain to observe and study the species of whales known to Provincetown waters. Today, whale watching is a huge tourist attraction, especially from April to October when Fin and Humpbacks make their appearance.
In 2008 Portuguese Princess excursions merged with Dolphin Fleet making Provincetown not only one of the best whale watching capitals in the world but also one of the highest quality whale watching eco-trips available. Dolphin Fleet offers more than just your average whale watching excursion by offering educational tools designed to increase awareness of whales, other marine life and marine habitat.
