I think to be cautious in any foreign city is smart. However, you should ALWAYS caryy an ID. I always feel very safe in PV. Have been the 6 times in 10 years, and never had a problem. Now, ATM’s, that’s another story. There is a scam at some small independent ATM’s. Try to use an ATM at a bank location.
