“The Triangle” has a lot of appeal to the LGBT community. Hot-spots like Legends and 313 are top of the line venues with noteworthy drag offerings! Other clubs like Flex and Icon are great options for a night out on the town. Downtown Raleigh has the hottest club scene in the area, with most gay and gay-friendly venues centered around this urban center. There is even an LGBT bookstore called White Rabbit in the midst of it all.
In addition to having the gayest club atmosphere in the state, Raleigh hosts the North Carolina Pride Festival every summer, which is not to be missed. Also happening every summer is the North Carolina Gay and Lesbian Film Festival. These festivals, as well as shows and events occurring throughout the year, tag Raleigh as an arts-and-culture-friendly city!
The neighboring town of Durham is the dominant gay area of “The Triangle” region. It is known for its open and out gay residents, and accepting atmosphere. L Club and Visions are two lesbian clubs in Durham that are known to be hot. Don’t be surprised to find out and proud individuals, couples, and families frequenting the area; this is definitely a safe-haven for LGBT residents and tourists alike!
