Rehoboth Beach is without a doubt a thriving gay beach town that has found its way onto our radar- especially as a great gay summer vacation destination! Originally founded in the 1870’s as a religious camp, this beautiful beach is now a year-round gay resort town with a thriving community of over 200 gay-owned restaurants, shops, lodgings and nightclubs.

Because of its location in Delaware, Rehoboth Beach is an excellent getaway for DC, Baltimore, and Philadelphia locals. During the summer season, the Rehoboth population swells to well over 50,000 which makes for plenty of eye candy. The boardwalk definitely adds to the appeal of the beach for it offers a variety of food, arcade, and bar options. Better yet, be sure to check out the active house party scene in this beach town because most of the parties are open to the public.

No matter what you do in this summer beach town, don’t be surprised to find affordable options that are also trendy and elegant. For more active options, try one of the nearby parks for hiking trails, camping, fishing, and kayaking. And if you love to shop, check out the various nearby outlet malls because Delaware has no sales tax! No matter what your style, there is something for everyone in Rehoboth Beach. There is truly no better place to spend your summer!

A North Carolina pastor is calling for the extermination of all gays and lesbians by locking them off behind an electrified fence and waiting for them to die. Charles Worley of Providence Road Baptist Church in Maiden, N.C., made the suggestion during a May 13 sermon.

“I figured a way to get rid of all the lesbians and queers,” he says.

“Build a great, big, large fence — 150- or 100-mile long — put all the lesbians in there . . . do the same thing for the queers and the homosexuals, and have that fence electrified so they can’t get out.

“Feed ’em, and you know what?” Worley continues. “In a few years they’ll die. Do you know why? They can’t reproduce.” Worley made the comments after admonishing President Obama for recently saying he agrees with same-sex marriage.

As you all know we like to get to the bottom of everything (no pun intended!) so we reached out to our friends at PrideFest St. Louis to get the inside scoop on this awesome Pride Festival! Here is the skinny from our good friend Ethan Barnett, programmer of the festival.

As you all know we like to get to the bottom of everything (no pun intended!) so we reached out to our friends at PrideFest St. Louis to get the inside scoop on this awesome Pride Festival! Here is the skinny from our good friend Ethan Barnett, programmer of the festival.

What sets PrideFest St. Louis apart from other events of its type?

"PrideFest St. Louis is unique in that it is a free and family friendly community-wide celebration in the heart of a beautiful and historic South St. Louis Park. The two day event boasts live national, regional and local entertainment, one of the cities largest and most exciting parades, local restaurants, a grass volleyball tournament, Pride 5k and most importantly a vibrant and strong St. Louis LGBT community."

What about this year's event makes it bigger and better than last year's?

"This years event promises to be bigger and better than ever. The Pride Entertainment Committee worked diligently to build one of the strongest and most dynamic entertainment lineups, there are nearly 200 vendors and sponsors, an Athletes Village, the Pride 5k, new and exciting food options and a new layout to festival. PrideFest St. Louis has undergone a facelift."

How does this event represent/reflect the LGBT culture of St. Louis?

"PrideFest is the ultimate St. Louis LGBT Festival and celebrates 33 years of history in St. Louis. PrideFest brings the entire community together under one umbrella and attempts to showcase the St. Louis LGBT community in its entirity. The list of vendors and sponsors contains those who are allies and supporters but also those who are members of the St. Louis LGBT community."

What should guests expect from this year's PrideFest St. Louis?

"Guests should expect a new layout to festival, stronger entertainment lineup, increased media and exposure and one of the most vibrant parades in the city."

What is the history of PrideFest St. Louis?

"What became known as St. Louis Lesbian & Gay Pride Celebration Committee was born in 1979, but the first St. Louis Gay and Lesbian Pride Celebration didn’t occur until 1980. This event was sponsored by the Magnolia Committee - named for the street where the majority of the members lived and had their meetings. Their combined effort with a second organization resulted in a weeks worth of activities held in April of 1980. At the end of the week hundreds gathered for “The Lesbians and Gays Walk for Charity” which went down Lindell Boulevard in the Central West End to Washington University’s quadrangle. These two combined groups then became the St. Louis Lesbian & Gay Pride Celebration Committee.

At the same time, writer Jim Thomas invited representatives from organizations around town to a meeting to begin discussions for an annual celebration. It was to be held in June as a tribute to the Stonewall Riots which occurred the last weekend of June in 1969. Each participating organization, still able to keep their identity in individual events, would form a larger group – creating a greater whole. At the time, the celebration consisted of a picnic in the beginning of the week and a march at the end.
Thus began a tradition which is still strong today in St. Louis. June is now known as Gay and Lesbian Pride Month, and since the first PrideFest in 1981 this event has grown in size, attendance, and scope. A Pride Festival takes on a huge importance for our community because it allows, if even for one brief weekend, for people to feel proud of who they are. We provide them a safe place to be who they wish to be, and that empowerment can be a life-altering experience.

For over thirty years, Pride St. Louis, Inc. has been working to raise understanding and acceptance of Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, and Transgender individuals in our community. We are not a political group, but rather a community-based organization that envisions a world where diversity can be celebrated and prejudice has been eliminated. We welcome you to join us for a meeting, a workshop, or a special event. As an organization, we are working hard to bring about changes...right here in St. Louis. The Board of Directors meets once a month on the third Monday of every month at The LGBT Center of St. Louis at 7 pm."

How has this event impacted the local and broader LGBT community?

"PrideFest is a festival which celebrates and unites the St. Louis LGBT community and beyond. It also provides a vehicle for local dignitaries and organizations to show their support for equality and unity. St. Louis is a vibrant and strong LGBT community."

"The show is inspired by the concept of the Totem and its symbol of origin in ancient civilizations."

Get ready Boston because there is an amazing experience headed your way! If amazing light shows, acrobatics, and incredible song and dance tickle your fancy then Totem is the show for you! This traveling Cirque De Soleil experience is spectacle to say the very least. The show is inspired by the concept of the Totem and its symbol of origin in ancient civilizations. It will take you on a journey of evolution and the ties that binds man to other species.

The evening began with the characters meeting and interacting with the audience as we took our seats, it was a fun personal touch. Once the lights went down the live music began and an incredible organic structure is unveiled and the acrobatics begin, and it’s nothing short of incredible. In the first few minutes you could already hear the gasps from the audience and they stare wide eyed at what is happening only feet away.

One of the most entertaining parts of the show features 4 cast members on extremely tall unicycles all moving in unison while tossing bowls into the air and catching them on their head! Yes on their head! And the most amazing part was they were tossing the bowls with their feet! When was the last time you tried tossing a bowl into the air with your foot while trying to stay balanced on a unicycle? We literally could have watched them all night.

A few other things you should expect from the show are trapeze acts, carapace (bars), hoop dancing, manipulation, perches, rings, roller skates, Russian bars, and much more! Don’t miss this experience.

The show will next appear Boston then travel Washington D.C., Atlanta, and Miami.

Davey Wavey: Vienna’s Life Ball: Be There.

"Walking the pink carpet with Haley Star, my best drag queen friend, I ditched my fancy suit for a red Speedo and gold hightops."

Jetlagged and bleary-eyed, I’m flying back to California after an amazing weekend in Vienna, Austria. Each and every year, the city plays host to Europe’s biggest and best HIV/AIDS fundraiser—and, though most Americans haven’t heard of it, it’s not to be missed.

It’s hard to describe the Life Ball to someone who has never been. It’s part Burning Man, part Olympics Opening Ceremony and part New York City Fashion Week. This year, celebrity guests included Bill Clinton, the Scissor Sisters, Antonio Banderas, Sean Penn, Lance Bass, Cheyenne Jackson and many more.

Tickets to the event are always in short supply—but locals are able to score a deep discount by purchasing a “costume” ticket. In exchange for the markdown, Austrians are required to put together a costume that fits the year’s theme. This year’s theme was fighting the flames of ignorance—and, as you can imagine, creativity was not in short supply.

Walking the pink carpet with Haley Star, my best drag queen friend, I ditched my fancy suit for a red Speedo and gold hightops. With many attendees showing lots of skin, no one was shocked or surprised by my lack of attire. In fact, the woman in front of me was walking the pink carpet in a thong. And only a thong.

While covering Life Ball for my YouTube channel, I was invited to walk in the fashion show, which was hosted by Italian Vogue. Being only five-foot eight and with some 80,000 people in attendance, it was intimidating walking alongside models like Naomi Campbell and Alex Wek, but dare I say that I held my own—and managed to work my shirtless sailor ensemble for Jean Paul Gaultier. For me, it was a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity, and I soaked in every second of it.

After the opening ceremonies and fashion show, ticketed guests descend on Vienna’s famed city hall. Entirely transformed for the event, partiers are treated to countless ballrooms filled with heart-pumping music, live performances and beautiful, scantily-clad Europeans. I’ve honestly never seen a party so big, so packed or so fun. And just when you think the party is over, the after party starts around 5:00 AM.

Though I’m admittedly not much of a late-night partier and though I don’t drink alcohol, I had an incredible time. The party, in and of itself, was worth the exhausting plane ride to Vienna—and it was great knowing that all the funds raised support such an importance cause.

If I get another invite to Life Ball 2013, I’ll be there. And I hope to see you there, too.

Expecting around 100 000 gay male travelers and even more other LGBT people visiting Prague, Czech local businesses become as flexible as they can to get closer to such an attractive market. 23 years without communists is obviously enough to become a tride and true gay-friendly destination!

Wide activities of local non-profit organizations have had a huge impact on public opinion about LGBT minority in Czech Republic. Business area- especially the one in Prague- represents an interesting reflection of how people’s minds change. Today there are more gay-friendly Czech businesses than ever before. Constantly increasing number of gay tourists in Prague during the last two decades and unexpected success of the first Prague Gay Pride in 2011 changed the gay-scene completely. Every day more and more hotels and other travel-related companies in Prague want to provide their services to gay people. The reason for such reaction of the market is very simple. Businesses realize that gay people tend to travel more often and spend more money during their trips. The Prague gay-scene represents a vibrant and modern community today. Clubs, bars and dozens of other local businesses offer their services to LGBT locals and travelers and all of them are getting ready for the main event of 2012 – Prague Pride, which will take place from August 13-th to August 19-th this year.

Carlos Melia finally returns home after a thrilling visit to Buenos Aires. Read about his travel experience as his latest journey comes to a close!

Carlos Melia's latest from his travels in Buenos Aires, Argentina:

"Back in New York City after and amazing month an a half in Brazil and Argentina. The way back, well on board First Class non-stop American Airlines flight from Buenos Aires to New York City (approx. 10 hours and 30 minutes ). Yes everyone, after an exhausting week planning a Gay Wedding in Buenos Aires, I got on my almost flat bed seat, jump into my AA pijamas, enjoyed a few glasses of White Wine and Champagne, caught up with movies and slept the whole way through to wake up over a great breakfast at JFK.

That seats and entertainment system is a bit old and outdated onboard International American Airlines flights ? yes I keep hearing that a lot, and I must say that although extremely comfortable, I agree. But GREAT news, this is all about to change… American Airlines announced changes to its spring and summer schedules, first over airline’s presence in Brazil. Beginning in December, American’s route between Dallas/Fort Worth (DFW) and Sao Paulo(GRU) will operate with the new state-of-the-art Boeing 777-300ER. The new aircraft is designed to enhance the customer experience and includes fully lie-flat First and Business Class seats, plus seating plans that will allow American to offer a premium product in the Main Cabin and Wi-Fi capability to keep customers connected while traveling internationally. The Business Class cabin be outfitted with fully lie flat seats – all with aisle access. The First Class cabin will feature an updated and enhanced version of American’s Flagship Suite seats. Unique mood lighting and a dramatic archway and ceiling treatment create a feeling of spaciousness."

"The Villa was originally built by twentieth century oil-magnate & billionaire, J. Paul Getty to house his expansive arts and antiquities collections"

Have you thought about what it would be like to travel back in time 2000 years to walk inside an authentic luxurious Roman villa, perched upon a beautiful hillside with a stunning ocean view? Well, look no further than the Getty Villa located in Pacific Palisades of Los Angeles, California. The villa is a one of a kind reproduction of a first century Roman villa, based upon the real Villa dei Papyri in Herculaneum, which was buried under one hundred feet of volcanic ash due to the infamous eruption of Mount Vesuvious in 79 CE. It was perfectly preserved and then discovered 1600 years later in 1750 CE, during a time of Renaissance, when people would discover the works of the classical pagan world.

The Villa was originally built by twentieth century oil-magnate & billionaire, J. Paul Getty to house his expansive arts and antiquities collections back in 1976. When it first opened the ground floor housed the antiquities while the upper floor was home to various paintings and French decorative art which are now housed at the main Getty Museum in nearby Brentwood, another great place to visit while soaking up the world class culture that Los Angeles has to offer. Since the museum's remodeling and reopening in 2006, all of the it's contents are of ancient Greek, Roman and Etruscan artifacts spanning from 500 BCE to 400 CE with items such as marble and bronze statuary, jewelry, tombstones, a mummy and funerary masks, pottery, coins, and various glassware. Read More

Nice has tons of hidden gems of its own though, so check out a few of our favorites during your next French Riviera visit!

	Coco Beach

Coco Beach is Nice’s gay beach that is also clothing optional most of the year. There are usually a number of gay people clustered together on the rocks sunning themselves with still plenty of space to have some room for your self. This beach is a bit secluded but the breathtaking location and views are well worth the journey!

	Castel Beach

Home of the Castel Plage beach restaurant, this gorgeous beach is nestled under the Chateau. There's a wide stretch of beach and the water is often calmer than elsewhere on the Baie des Anges so this is an excellent place to catch some rays and waves!

	Matisse Museum

Nice is not only a great travel destination, it is also the home of Matisse! The Matisse Museum is situated on the hill of Cimiez, which is near the Franciscan monastery with its Italianate gardens, the Hotel Regina where Matisse used to reside, and the Gallo-Roman ruins. Since 1963 this Museum has been welcoming visitors to its collection of works left by the famous artist and his heirs to the city of Nice where he lived from 1918 until 1954.

	Museum of Asian Arts

The Asian Arts museum, built on the lake of the park in Nice, was wished by the General Council of the Alpes Maritimes and realized by the Japanese architect Kenzo Tange. Asian arts and Western culture beautifully mix in this stunning museum. Collections old and new come together under the roof of this not to be missed Nice gem!

	Le Blue

Le Blue is a wonderful nightclub for the gay traveler and gay local alike! Get your dance party on in this hip and trendy spot in one of the best cities of France. Nice’s hidden gem will definitely leave you planning your next vacation over.

	Le Glam

This hot gay bar and club in Nice is a definitely must-see! Le Glam is a great spot to check out the local drag scene, get your drink on, and take in the local flavor. Great drink specials and a thriving gay scene makes this bar a perfect place to dance the night away while on your next Nice vacation!

	Beau Rivage Beach Restaurant

Right across the street from the Beau Rivage Hotel, the Beau Rivage beach restaurant is a nice place to kick back and sip a delicious cocktail under a parasol. This is a great place to relax especially with the nearby public restrooms, showers, and bag storage. This is a great place for grub and fun!

	Castro Street

Castro Street in Nice is one of the most popular destinations for the LGBT community that even features darker areas inside for “private mingling” of gay couples. Short of venturing into a sauna or sex club, Castro Street is a great place to visit for your “action” fix while spending time in Nice.

	Le Millennium Restaurant

While Le Millennium Restaurant is a family favorite during the day, this intriguing venue belongs to the gay dinner and evening crowd. Here you can find some of the best fondue that you will find not only here but anywhere else in the country as well! Look no further for the good kind of cheesy.

	Blue Boy

This small yet thriving location has an industrial look that despite the name, also has quite a large lesbian following. In contrast to the usual east side location of most of the LGBT establishments in Nice, Blue Boy is located west of the downtown area. It is viewed as one of the more stylish gay discos so be sure to pack your dancing shoes!

"When my luggage weighed in at 62 pounds—some 12 pounds over the limit—on a recent trip to San Diego, I knew that I was in trouble"

Like many people who travel frequently, I’ve come to dread flying. The thing is, it doesn’t need to be that way. It almost seems like the airlines go out of their way to make the experience as unpleasant as possible.

When my luggage weighed in at 62 pounds—some 12 pounds over the limit—on a recent trip to San Diego, I knew that I was in trouble. I understood that there would be a fee—but I was shocked when the ticketing agent charged me $125 for the bag. I wouldn’t be surprised if, in the not-so-distant-future, airlines starts charging overweight passengers a fee for transporting their excess weight. After all, it takes additional jet fuel to transport all that mass.

I understand that airlines are companies and they’re motivated by profits. For them, charging two bucks for earphones or $1 for in-flight TV is a way to expand profit margins. But it leaves passengers feeling nickel and dimed—and it makes the flying experience even less enjoyable.

But my baggage fee was just the tip of the iceberg.
Upon arriving at the gate, I realized that the gate agents were arguing. In front of passengers. As a traveler, you expect a certain degree of professionalism from a company with whom you’re trusting your life. It’s totally unacceptable.

And then there’s the moment when you realize your plane has propellers for engines. It’s 2012. No one wants to feel like they’re flying in an air and space museum exhibit from the 1960s. Though the flight was a short regional connection from Providence to Washington, DC, it was 90 minutes of turbulence, terror and deafening noise. By the time we landed in 25 mile-an-hour winds, I was three shades of green.

On my connecting flight to San Diego, I soon realized that we wouldn’t be receiving meal service. If you wanted a salad or snack pack, you’d have to buy it. It wasn’t a short flight—and the lack of food made everyone just a little more miserable. Most miserable of all, however, were the flight attendants. Without even the slightest smile or friendly banter, they did the bare minimum. Maybe even less.

I don’t mean to paint all flight attendants with the same broad brush. There are friendly, delightful stewards and stewardesses. But, unfortunately, they’re the exception rather than the norm. And, quite frankly, I’d be an irritable flight attendant, too, if I were dealing with unhappy and hungry passengers day in and day out. What came first: The chicken or the egg? Miserable flight attendants or miserable passengers?

And it’s not just a problem with this particular sirline. My friend flew on a different carrier to San Diego, and she had a very similar experience. Instead of helping or assisting passengers, they brushed off requests and even rolled their eyes. I mean, really?

When I fly, I expect to be treated like a human being. Is that really too much to ask?

"Our newest partnership is the unique site MeetMeOnBoard.com which connects gay cruise ship passengers using elements of social media"

Our newest partnership is the unique site MeetMeOnBoard.com which connects gay cruise ship passengers using elements of social media, plus includes a unique gay cruise calendar, expert advice, forums, and lots of profiles!

They’re talking real cruisers…not park cruisers! Gay men seem to love cruise travel, but not all of us want to take an “all gay cruise.” Still, many gay cruise passengers enjoy meeting other gays on board, and if you’re one of them, the unique site MeetMeOnBoard.com helps you do it. And with over 5,000 frequent cruisers, it's easy to meet others on your upcoming cruise.

Gay cruise passengers use MeetMeOnBoard.com in many ways—the site’s main functionality is to connect gays who love to cruise—either before, during, or after a cruise. To do this, you simply join the site and create a profile. You list your upcoming cruises, and then people can search for you by that cruise, and you can search for others the same way.

Another popular feature is the site’s Gay Cruise Calendar – which lists many gay group cruises (large and small), and all-gay cruises. If you’re planning a group cruise, it’s possible to list it there and help grow your group!

The site was started by real guys, Mark and Dale, of Phoenix, who love cruising and wanted to meet other gay cruisers. “I had no idea it would turn into something this big,” Mark says. “But I love ‘meeting’ so many other gay cruisers, both electronically and on ships!’”

So cruise on over and check out our friends at MeetMeOnBoard.com. See you on a cruise soon?

Davey Wavey’s Bathhouse Adventure

"When Matt and I arrived at the bathhouse, we were quite certain that the address must be wrong. From the outside, the building was unassuming."

I’m always up for an adventure. And I rarely say no to an experience that will provide good material for my blog or YouTube channel. So when my friend Matt suggested that we “lose our bathhouse virginity” in New York City, I was sold.

Bathhouses, like libraries and newspapers, are a dying breed in this part of the world. The Internet is killing them. It’s not a quick and easy death; instead, it’s slow, painful and drawn out. Indeed, it’s much easier to browse profiles of eligible men from the comfort of your own home—or even on your iPhone or iPad. And so, as more and more gay men turn to the Internet for dating and fun, time is running out for the bathhouses.

When Matt and I arrived at the bathhouse, we were quite certain that the address must be wrong. From the outside, the building was unassuming. But that’s the whole point; discretion is key. A security officer guarded the front entrance and directed us to the elevator.

From behind bulletproof glass, the shadowy bathhouse attendant asked us for the $40 cover charge. As it turns out, visiting the bathhouse can be an expensive habit. We emptied our belongings into tin trays for safekeeping, and were directed down a dark hallway to our lockers.

After disrobing at the lockers, we adorned ourselves in traditional bathhouse attire: a sole white towel wrapped around the waist. And thus, we nervously set out to explore the facility.

When walking the dim halls of the bathhouse, one can’t help but feel like they’re visiting a haunted house at some low-budget amusement park. You’re never sure what you’ll see around the next corner. And in either situation, one is equally likely to be accosted by groping hands with sinister intent.

While walking through the snaking hallways, we came across a number of men. Some were sitting in small rooms. Some were just standing and waiting. A few, mostly behind closed (or half-opened) doors, were in the throws of passion. Most of the men were in their 60s, and almost all of them were married.

Matt and I talked with a few of the men. They told us about their lives—their jobs, their wives and children. For them, being open about their sexuality wasn’t an option. And so, they did what was expected of them and started families. Visiting the bathhouse, for many of these men, was their escape. “When I’m here, I’m free,” one man told me.

Being 28, it’s easy to forget that only 30 or 40 years separate me from these men. And it’s equally easy to forget that today’s more accepting world has come on the backs, sacrifices, blood, sweat and tears of the generations before us. All of us are indebted to the men and women that have made our journeys easier.

More than a bang, I lost my bathhouse virginity with a whimper. Though not nearly as tantalizing as I had hoped, visiting the bathhouse was a learning experience. And, as it is part of our culture, I’d encourage every gay man to make at least one pilgrimage.

But the clock is ticking, so you better hurry.

As you all know we like to get to the bottom of everything (no pun intended)

As you all know we like to get to the bottom of everything (no pun intended) so we reached out to our friends at FilmOut San Diego to get the inside scoop! Here is all the deets from our good friend Michael McQuiggan, longstanding programmer of the festival.

What makes FilmOutSD stand out among similar LGBT film festivals?

"This year we are especially lucky to stand out because we are having our festival before both Outfest and Frameline. We have 3 World Premiere Films, including our Closing Night Film "Nate & Margaret,” which is a fantastic film about a 19 year old gay man and his friendship with a 52 year old straight woman directed by Nathan Adloff. Also, we have 3 U.S. Premiere’s including Todd Verow’s very sexy, raw, gritty and controversial film “The Endless Possibility of Sky” which stars Michael Vaccaro and Brad Hallowell. We also have a film direct from Sundance directed by Carrie Preston (True Blood) called “That’s What She Said which is executive produced by local, well respected San Diego filmmaker/writer/producers James Vasquez and Mark Holmes. We also have 14 West Coast Premiere’s. Our Opening Night film stars Oscar Winners Olympia Dukakis and Brenda Fricker – which is an outstanding road movie from acclaimed director Thom Fitzgerald called “Cloudburst”. Overall, there are nearly 40 films playing over the 5 day film festival – representing over 10 countries!"

What should guests expect from this years events?

"We will have filmmakers and talent from the majority of the films screened this year, plus our Opening Night Party at Sunset Temple and Closing Night Party at West Coast Tavern. Additionally, we have Dixie Longate coming into town for an hour of outrageous standup. Dixie will also play hostess to the Del Shores Lifetime Achievement Award that same night. We will then screen his already cult classic film, “Sordid Lives” with actors from the film there to salute Del and participate in a Q&A. This night of comedy and film will be an audience favorite, so I encourage people to get tickets NOW!"

What can you tell us about the growth of the festival?

"The festival is in its 14th year and is now a filmmaker festival destination. Filmmakers/Actors truly dig our film festival. We are accommodating, low key, supportive and our proud to be present their art to the San Diego (and beyond) communities. This year, we hope to have over 7500 people attend the film festival."

What can you tell us about the historic Birch North Park Theatre?

"This is our 6th year at the historic, completely renovated, 731 seat Birch North Park Theatre. We love this venue. Joe, Wes, Brian, James, Mike, Gio and the rest of the staff/volunteers all go above and beyond to support FilmOut. We can attribute our success by having our festival at this event which rivals houses in San Francisco and Los Angeles with its grandeur, class and sophistication. Also, West Coast Tavern is attached via lobby to the Birch and audience members are actually allowed to drink alcohol in the theatre, drink in the hip bar or enjoy an incredible meal in the restaurant as well! Thanks to West Coast Taverners David and Bobby for being so supportive of FilmOut. With our Monthly Screenings, Special Event Screenings and annual film festival, we are proud to call the Birch the home of FilmOut."

Can you give us some history on FilmOut SD?

"FilmOut started as a thesis project for my good friend and founder of FilmOut, Joe Ferrelli. This project started in the early 1990’s and has snowballed as one of the best LGBT film festivals in the U.S. Since Joe moved to the East Coast several years ago, we have kept the festival alive with his vision and integrity and will continue to grow and keep LGBT film (along with genre cinema) alive in San Diego!"

Is there anything else you would like to add?

"FilmOut would not be successful if it were not for Executive Director Kaleb James, Board President Rick Goldenstein and my Co-Programmer Ana Pines. We are also fortunate enough to have a dedicated and resourceful Board of Directors who truly believe in FilmOut! Lastly, we would not be here without the support of our loyal Sponsors, enthusiastic Volunteers and above all, are wonderful audience members!"
