Many of the clubs, restaurants and trendy hotels cater to a decidedly young crowd, and the city has dozens of bars and more than 50 clubs, most of which are located in Old Town. It was been reported that the clubs located in Old Town can attract crowds of over 40,000 people on some weekends. While there is a dearth of gay venues here, many LGBT travelers will still feel at home rubbing elbows with the stylish denizens of this desert oasis.
Old Town Scottsdale has many shops, restaurants, bars, nightclubs, and western art galleries which evoke the old cowboy era. Scottsdale’s main cultural district is also in this area which includes one of the largest malls in the United States and the performing arts district. Because of its growing arts community, Scottsdale is considered to be one of the centers for art in the US. The Scottsdale Center for the Performing Arts is found here and offers musicals and plays throughout the year. The Scottsdale Waterfront features upscale restaurants and boutique shopping and is located on the Arizona Canal.
