Whistler is framed by two enormous peaks, that of Whistler and Blackcomb mountains. Together, these mammoths create the largest skiable acreage of any ski resort in all of North America.

It’s hard to even imagine the scope and scale of these mountains until you are standing at the base, peering up to see the peaks poking through the fog. Then you look over, and you notice this enormous line between them.

That would be the world-record shattering Peak 2 Peak Gondola, which opens up an entirely new way to experience both mountains in one day. Rather than going all the way down Whistler and then up Blackcomb, you can just cut across once you are already on the peak. World-records set by the Peak 2 Peak include: longest unsupported span (3.024 km), highest lift of its kind (436 meters), and the longest continuous lift system on the planet.

WhistlerBlackcomb has steadily built itself into an all-season destination, with summer visitors even recently outpacing the 2 million winter visitors. Winter activities include skiing, snowboarding, dog sledding, snowshoeing, snowmobiling, ziplining, bungee, and hiking. With glacier skiing, Whistler’s ski season extends into July. There’s even the “Whistler Triathlon:” skiing on the glacier in the morning, followed by a round of golf and an afternoon mountain biking. Other summertime activities include ATV, horseback riding, zipling, hiking, bungee, rock climbing, rafting and more.
