Find Love in NOLA

Mardi Gras isn't a summer festival, so if you're traveling down south in the summertime, you might feel tempted to give New Orleans a miss. Reconsider! New Orleans is a decadent city all year long, and you can't beat the attractions, the sights, or the delectable array of single gay men and women looking to meet someone. Get out on the bayou, lunch on po' boys and beignets, and spend the evening listening to cool jazz and sipping sloe gin fizzes. Whether you're exploring Jackson Square, imagining which home you'd choose in the Garden District, or enjoying the live music on Bourbon Street, you never know if some hot Southern lad with a drawl like honey will ask to show you around town.
Party in Provincetown

If you'd rather head north for your summer fun, Massachusetts is the perfect spot. Why? One word: Provincetown. It's the most gay-friendly city you'll ever visit, it's ideal for singles, and it comes alive in the summertime. Provincetown's many summer celebrations are second to none, with a rip-roaring ribaldry you might not expect to find on rich, exclusive Cape Cod. What's even better, however, is all the fun you'll experience during a visit in August. There's no better way to round out your summer than by celebrating Carnival Week. The party takes over the entire city, there's always a theme that lends itself well to meeting hot guys and girls, and the atmosphere is fun and fancy-free.
Show Your Pride in San Francisco

San Francisco has long earned its place as one of the top destination for gay singles—and couples, for that matter. This open, welcoming city is beautiful, exciting, and all-inclusive, praised for accepting everyone. Its temperate climate, historic neighborhoods, and festive atmosphere make it a worthwhile spot to visit anytime, but summer's special. At the end of April, start looking for hotels in San Francisco. Do it early, because you're preparing for the city's prime social event: San Francisco Pride in June. This is probably one of the most exciting Pride parades ever, and it gets better every year. It's a dream if you're single, because in addition to meeting fun-loving people from all walks, you're sure to meet some charming lad or lady who will make your Pride perfect.
Howl at the Moon in Phuket

If you're looking for something really exotic, hop on a plane to Thailand. Phuket is a veritable paradise, and in the summer it really sizzles. You're close enough to Bangkok that you can still get your city fix, but you probably won't want to leave the island. Although there are Gay Festivals in both November and February, Patong is a hotspot every month of the year. With full moon parties taking place all the time, it still pays to visit in the summer.
Parlez-Vous in Paris

Paris is the city of love, but you don't have to actually be in love to visit. Believe it or not, Paris is a top city for singles, and it's especially perfect if you're not looking to stay single—at least for the summer. As if attractions such as the Catacombs, the Louvre, and the Eiffel Tower aren't enough, the nightlife will spark your interest and keep your fire going for your entire stay there.
Go Wild at Fire Island

Fire Island offers a summer-long smorgasbord of pretty people in the least amount of clothing—or none at all, in some cases. Fire Island is a real island, anchored just south of Long Island. This is 30 miles of beaches and buff bodies. It's the place to see and be seen, and there's always a party happening somewhere. If you do choose to make this your solitary holiday, make sure you pack your Speedo. Actually, you'll probably want to pack one for every day of the summer.
Rock the Rialto in Amsterdam

Amsterdam is another gay-friendly city, and if your sizzling summer plans leave room for some serious culture, this is where you want to go. The Gay and Lesbian Summer Festival is a huge draw, taking place at the gorgeous Rialto. In between seeing the sights and scoping the other singles, you can watch some of the most amazing LGBT films, shown every weekend of the festival. During the last Sunday, you can even take part in a movie marathon so you can catch any movies you missed.

New York City is notorious for being one of the most LGBT-friendly cities in the United States, so you’ll be able to truly feel comfortable while you’re there. New York offers a lot of attractions for you to enjoy, like the Statue of Liberty, the Empire State Building, and more.
Jam in Rio de Janeiro

If you're not considering Rio de Janeiro for your sultry summer vacation, you better put it on your list. Rio is stunningly gorgeous, with iconic imagery and exotic hotspots all throughout. When you're celebrating your single-hood, however, you need to hit up Ipanema—the city and the beach, which is strictly gay-only. It's the only choice if you want to lie out in the sun and soak up the eye-candy. However, that's not the only spot you need to visit. Throw yourself into endless parties and the kind of fun that will make all your Instagram followers jealous by visiting Rio's famed Leblon district. You won't get a lot of sleep and you'll find more opportunities for flirtation than romance, but if that's what you're looking for, it's hands-down a top spot. It's never too early to start planning a heavenly summer, especially if you're eager to celebrate being single in a smoldering, sexy, stunning locale. What's the best single holiday you've ever taken, and what are some of the sauciest details?
