Some exotic corner of the Caribbean? The South of France? Miami’s South Beach? All beautiful beaches, but the best beach in the world is one you’ve likely never heard of before.

Not that a stunning beach in Brazil is too big a surprise, but according to TripAdvisor’s annual Traveler’s Choice survey, holding onto its spot from last year, the best beach in the world is Baia do Sancho, Brazil.

Surrounded by cliffs in Fernando de Noronha, a group of islands located a couple hundred miles off the coast, the only way is beach is accessible is by boat — and it’s a rough trek at that. Still, look at these photos – well worth the trouble, right?

You can swim, you can see dolphins, and at least until word gets out (book now), you’ll be one of the only people on the beach. Even the hotels are cheap.

What is the most beautiful beach you’ve ever walked on? The nicest sunset you’ve ever seen? Let us know in the comments below.
