NAIROBI – Kenya’s Prime Minister is threatening to arrest HIV-positive gays and lesbians who go to government clinics to collect life-prolonging medicines. 

Prime Minister Raila Odinga made the comments on Sunday. A spokesperson for Odinga says he was quoted out of context. Still, the Gay and Lesbian Coalition in the country says they’ve received calls from Kenyans who are worried they’ll be arrested.Kenya’s laws prohibit “sex against the order of nature.” That charge is punishable by up to 14 years in prison.
