AUSTIN PRIDE ANNOUNCES FULL FESTIVAL LINE-UP Andy Bell of Erasure to headline annual LGBTQ Festival
The Austin Gay & Lesbian PRIDE Foundation will host Austin’s annual PRIDE Festival at Fiesta Gardens on Saturday, September 7, 2013 from 11AM - 6PM.
Performers include Andy Bell of synthpop duo Erasure; Jane Wiedlin of the Go-Go’s; 90’s dance diva Crystal Waters; Jojo of the Mary Jane Girls; JD Samson of Le Tigre/MEN; Nancy Whang of LCD Soundsys- tem; San Francisco’s Double Duchess; electro-pop duo Hi Fashion; ‘RuPaul’s Drag Race’ stars Raja (Season 3 winner), Shannel, and Shangela; comedienne Wendy Ho; internet sensation Jan Terri; and many more!
In addition to two stages of entertainment, the festival will feature vendor booths, games, and photo booths.
Admission to the festival is $17 in advance and $20 (cash only) at the door. A portion of proceeds to bene- fit various non-profit organizations including 2013 featured beneficiaries The Care Communities, Project Transitions, Transgender Education Network of Texas, and ALLGO.
The Austin Gay & Lesbian PRIDE Foundation is a 100% volunteer-run 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization dedicated to managing and organizing Austin’s annual PRIDE celebration. Since 2011, the organization has donated over $55,000 to various charities locally and nationally through its Austin PRIDE Cares Pro- gram.
Austin PRIDE Week starts Sunday, September 1st and ends on Sunday, September 8th. Additional events include a fashion show with designers from ‘Project Runway’; a group wedding officiated by Jane Wiedlin of the Go-Go’s; film screenings at Alamo Drafthouse; a multifaith service; comedienne Nadya Ginsburg’s one-woman performance of ‘The Madonnalogues’; a drag brunch and much more.
