In fairness, male Olympic divers don’t exactly wear much when they’re competing.
But someone at British newspaper The Independent must hove been extremely confused when tweeting about diving, because the men in the photo attached to their tweet weren’t even wearing speedos.
The newspaper made a mistake, sending a tweet that read, "People think these photos from Rio 2016 look like porn."
The tweet was called out by another user, mostly because the picture attached to the tweet was actually from a porn. The Independent quickly deleted the tweet, but not before someone took a screen grab and shared it with E! Online.
The Independent was trying to make a joke about the text bar that appears on your screen to indicate a player's name and stats. When appearing over the speedo-clad divers, it appeared to act as an accidental censor bar.
The Internet turned it into one huge joke, with many people referring to the Olympic event as "naked diving."
