Friendsgiving is a really great way to celebrate the love of our friends. For LGBT members some of us don’t get to head home for the holidays due to family issues. Friendsgiving can possibly be the only Thanksgiving celebration some LGBT members experience. Our own GayTravel Cruise Guru, Stephen Prisco recently sailed on Royal Caribbean's newest ship, Harmony of the Seas where Friendsgiving was in full swing.
What better way to celebrate friendship than on a ship named Harmony?

Whether with friends or family, on land or at sea, here are 5 ways to have a fun and stress-free Friendsgiving.

5. Share
Be sure to invite the whole group and divide the work evenly. Everyone can make different and unique dishes from home. For those who don’t like to cook, utensils, plates, cups, and napkins are essential to a successful dinner party. Make sure everyone pitches in their part and celebrates equality on a day to be grateful for each other.

4. Be Friendly
If there is a person there you don’t know at the gathering, talk to them. It’s always nice to create new friendships and find new connections. You never know who you are going to meet, and sometimes and old fashion hello can be life changing.

3. F is for Fun
Be sure to have to have fun with your friends during your celebration. Play some video and board games or download the charades app on your phone. Get some group activities going and appreciate the time you have together.

2. Eat Well
One of the best parts of Friendsgiving is getting to experience everyone’s unique recipes and dishes. Be sure to share new food ideas and recipes with your group and don’t forget to compliment the chef(s).

1. Give Thanks
On a day where we celebrate coming together and giving thanks for each other, be sure to let your friends know why you love them. Go around the room and let each other know why you are thankful.

Happy Friendsgiving!
