On October 11, 2014, we will mark the 26th anniversary of National Coming Out Day. Showing support for gay, lesbian, bisexual, transgender, and questioning people around the world who are taking the brave step to show the world who they truly are is still just as important today as it was 26 years ago.

We just had to share this wonderful video by the HRC celebrating this years National Coming Out Day. We hope you will share this and your support to help give the strength to others to come out, be proud, and live loud.

Video and more from the HRC here.

Here's a look at some awesome gay quotes from some of our favorite people.

“[Gay rights are] perfectly all right with me. Some of the most gifted people I’ve ever met
or read about are homosexual. How can you knock it?” -Lucille Ball

“Hi Twitterland. Sorry for my lack of tweets recently.
Apparently I have babies and stuff. I’ll try harder. xo.” -Neil Patrick Harris on Twitter

“I’m a supporter of gay rights. And not a closet supporter either. From the time I was a kid, I have never been able to understand attacks upon the gay community. There are so many qualities that make up a human being… by the time I get through with all the things that I really admire about people, what they do with their private parts is probably so low on the list that it is irrelevant.” -Paul Newman

“Gay men are perfect men for girls who are tough. They’re not threatened by strong women, and they’re usually very in touch with their feelings and pay attention to details. I’ve always had an affinity with gay men.” –Madonna

“Gay people don’t actually try to convert people.
That’s Jehovah’s Witnesses you’re thinking of.” -Tina Fey

“The tide of history only advances when people make themselves fully visible…
The fact is, I’m gay, always have been, always will be, and I couldn’t be any more happy,
comfortable with myself, and proud.” –Anderson Cooper
