The gays love a rainbow — after all, it’s our flag, a symbol of equality and love.

So it goes without saying that as we traverse the planet in our travels, we might be drawn to color.

Thankfully, there are many corners of our planet that are literally bursting with color… places so bright you have to see them to believe they’re real.

And since we can’t put you all on a plane for a globe-trotting trip, we thought we’d bring some of these amazing sites to you. The folks at Pure Wow put together a list of the 10 most colorful places on the planet, and we selected our five favorites to share with you here.

From the lavender fields of France to Australia’s Great Barrier Reef, prepare to be wowed.

Lavender Fields, France

Have you ever seen something so breathtaking? Catch it in the summer though, when the fields become one extended purple bloom as far as the eye can see.

Procidia, Italy

We have paint to thank for this one, but what a wonderful job they’ve done. The pastel colored houses make for the perfect village landscape.

Tulip Fields, The Netherlands

These tulip, daffodil and hyacinth fields are so immaculately manicured, they look fake. But alas, they are quite real.

Valley of Flowers National Park, India

Have you EVER? Set against the backdrop of the Himalayas, this sunset – which is a regular occurrence – coupled with the flowers makes this a breathtaking sight to behold.

Great Barrier Reef, Australia

More than 400 coral species, 500 seaweed species and 1,500 fish species call this natural wonder of the world home.
