The term “The Baltics” has traditionally been known to comprise Estonia, Latvia & Lithuania.  A region rife with war and occupation for more than seventy years, these three countries have emerged from the Cold War hotter than ever. Latvia is truly a unique melting pot of East and West. Fairytale castles offer the perfect entree to a thriving - and growing - gay scene. Riga’s piece de resistance is definitely its countless, perfectly preserved collection of Art Nouveau architecture. A charming Old Town, booming cafe culture and excellent museum make for a brilliant few days.  With much of the city’s population comprised of native Russians, both culture and language remain incredibly diverse and add one more element of mystery to this former royal city.

While the gayborhood revolves entirely around one main club - Golden - the gay community is both welcoming and close-knit. Theme nights (most recently an underwear party) keep the scene fresh and ever changing. Whatever your fancy, Riga is yet another city filled with small-town charm.
