The climate in  Panama City is relaxed and enjoyable with short winters and humid summers. Hurricanes occasionally visit the area but those occurrences are far and few between so you don’t have to worry too much. Otherwise, your suitcase should only consist of swimwear, shorts, and a few tank tops.

The closest airport is Northwest Florida Beach Intl Airport which is only a 5-minute drive from the city. The best way to get around once you get there is by car if you don’t have a car then don’t fear because there are rent-a-car agencies all over. If you’re on a budget then check out the Zipcar locations that are spread out all across the city. However, if you are more for the sights then put some shoes on and head out on foot; there are many shops and restaurants all over the city to quell your retail therapy indulgences.

Safety isn’t an issue for the gay traveler in this area. The only major safety concern is that Panama City is a hotspot for thefts, so remember to always keep an eye on your bag.
