Gay Roatan

The beautiful island of Roatan is located 30 miles off of the coast of Honduras, and sits on top of the world's second largest coral reef! Because of the reef and the wide variety of fish it attracts, Roatan is known for its epic scuba diving and snorkeling. Roatan also has two major ports, so it is a wildly popular destination for cruises. For the adventerous types, fishing and boating excursions are a great way to get a taste of the sea and sunshine. The island is easy to navigate by food, although water taxis are an especially unique way to get around!

West Bay is the furthest west part of Roatan, and has many large resorts with decent restaurants. This area has the best beaches on the island, with gorgeous white sand that is well maintained. The West End is the most popular region of the island with amazing food, bars, and live music. Sandy Bay is home to many volunteer organizations so for a feel good and educational visit, check out the immersive volunteer experiences they have to offer. French Harbor is one of the lesser developed parts of the island which means it is especially fun to explore if you want an off-the-beaten-path experience!
