It’s been almost 3 months since the tragic shooting at Pulse Nightclub in Orlando that claimed 49 lives, but the survivors of the shooting still continue to heal.
Today, one of those survivors appeared on Ellen. Tony Marrero recounted the tragic night that forever changed the lives of so many in the LGBT community and moved the audience to tears with his courageous story.
He also moved the talk show host and a very special guest to tears - Katy Perry.
Marrero told Ellen it was Perry’s song “Rise” that got him through some of his darkest days, and then broke into tears when Perry surprised him by showing up on the stage.
