The Queen has spoken, and she’s in favor of marriage equality.

During a recent appearance on The Jonathan Ross Show, comedian/newlywed Stephen Fry said that despite having to remain politically neutral and therefore never having spoken in favor of marriage equality, the Queen expressed her approval when signing the 2013 Marriage Act granting same-sex couples in England the right to marry.

“When the Queen signed the Royal Assent for the equal marriages act, allowing gay people to marry for the first time, she put it down and said ‘Well, who’d have thought 62 years ago when I came to the throne, I’d be signing something like this? Isn’t it wonderful?'”
