As part of GayTravel's ongoing series "Music For the World," we are pleased to present this touching mother/daughter duet of Cold Play's "Fix You."

First, a little history-rewind.  Bailey Jean Cypher,  born in 1997, and her brother Becket Cypher, born in 1998, are the biological children of David Crosby of Crosby, Stills and Nash, and previously the Byrds, and filmmaker Julie Cypher.  Cypher is Melissa Etheridge's former partner.

There are so many special things about this performance starting with Bailey's beautiful voice.  There is no doubt that Bailey has her Dad's musical gift and that gift has been nurtured by her Mama (Etheridge) and her Mamo (Cypher).  What strikes us, too, is how well the mother/daughter complement each other as a duet with Bailey's sweet and tender her voice juxtaposed with Etheridge's soulful and powerful voice.

Then, you can add to that, the obvious pride "Mama" has in Bailey when she tells us that she and Bailey performed the song at Bailey's High School Talent show and that they "rocked it!"  What could be more endearing than to see this world-renowned, legendary rock musician, Melissa Etheridge, who is too cool for school without even trying to be cool, reveal to us -- this intimate glimpse into her family life.

On behalf of all Gay Travelers who cherish music and who know that music teaches us that we are all more the same than different; thank you, Melissa and Bailey, for sharing your beautiful performance with us.

Yay, it's piano day!  And yes, Melissa and Bailey, you "rocked it!"
