Gay Bar Harbor

Bar Harbor is one of the best places for outdoor recreational activities! Downtown Bar Harbor is extra lively in the summer and autumn months because the town is home to many outdoor enthusiasts. Acadia National Park is just two miles from the downtown area! Outdoor activities in Acadia include hiking along trails or carriage roads, biking along the carriage roads, bird watching, and mountain climbing. You can do all of these in view of Cadillac Mountain, the highest point on the Atlantic seaboard. If you are interested in the marine life surrounding Mount Desert Island, you can go to the marina at the end of Main Street and sign up for tours that feature puffins, whales, lobster, seals, pelagic seabirds, island lighthouses, or an overall nature cruise.

Bar Harbor is a great destination for tourists from all over the world, especially because it is a major port for cruise ships.  Bar Harbor also hosts many long-distance cyclists, as it is the eastern terminus of the Adventure Cycling Association's Northern Tier Bicycle Route, as well as the northern terminus of its Atlantic Coast Bicycle Route. The town is also home to a handful of museums that are small yet focused. To top off your day of outdoor adventures, you can relax at a bar or restaurant that usually features live music!
