As the Lake District builds its reputation as an epicurean escape, we are proud to introduce you to our innovative restaurant, Stella. Visitors can sample some of the finest cuisine in the Lake District, based on locally sourced and organic produce. Menus highlight the best of the Cumbrian region and the season, influenced by international celebrity chef Ritu Dalmia and her passion for Italian cooking.

Linthwaite House’s perennially popular light-filled Bar & Conservatory, with outstanding views of Lake Windermere, will be serving handcrafted cocktails, an all-day dining menu (including pizzas to rival those of Florence) and a selection of afternoon teas.

AREA & ACTIVITIES

Linthwaite House occupies a majestic site, nestled on a gentle rise with exceptional views of Windermere, and set in hilltop gardens and woodland grounds. The idyllic private tarn (small lake) lies in a fold of the higher ground to one side of the where there are original old stone walls and a patch of mixed woodland.

Situated in 14 Acres of beautifully landscaped grounds and overlooking Englands largest natural Lake, Windermere, Linthwaite House provides all the experienced traveler could want from a luxury venue.
Standard in-room facilities include a Pod Coffee Machine, Safe, Hairdryer, Robes, Slippers, Flatscreen Smart TV with Bose Soundbar and a mini-bar. However, if you opt for one of the Suites, you could find you also have a hot tub big enough for 2 complete with a Lake View. Our superb Lake Suites, are nestled away at the end of a tree-lined path and can be reached by our concierge buggy or with a gentle stroll through the woods.
Throughout the gardens, you will find numerous areas to relax, with stunning artworks, peaceful woodlands, our own tarn (where you can partake in fly-fishing or take one of our boats for a row) as well as plenty of green space to enjoy a game of Boules, Croquet or Chess.
Thanks to the hilltop location of Linthwaite, the terrace and conservatory not only provide a stylish and relaxing space to appreciate the gorgeous views surrounding the hotel but are also the perfect place to indulge in a cocktail, a locally distilled spirit or locally brewed beer. Plus with an extensive bar menu available all day and our wonderful Italian restaurant, ‘Stella’ for evening dining, you’ll get a truly local flavor of the area, as where possible, we use locally produced ingredients in our freshly prepared dishes.
